Settling scores of all kinds is what keeps the blood flowing and the comedy going in this drawing-room-style crime comedy with a solid A-list cast. What could possibly go wrong with Ed Harris, Lewis Pullman, Pete Davidson, Bill Murray, Gabrielle Union, Michael Angelo Covino topped off with horny, loose-as-a-goose Jennifer Coolidge playing the crazy characters of an interconnected Mob family? It’s all about revenge.
Vincent (Ed Harris – My Dead Friend Zoe, Love Lies Bleeding, Central Intelligence) is an ex-hit man and divorced, re-married husband who just wants a normal life. He was married to Ruth (Jennifer Coolidge White Lotus), and father to Rocco (Lewis Pullman – Lessons in Chemistry, Top Gun: Maverick, Bad Times at the El Royale). Harris is now married to Sandy (Gabrielle Union –Truth Be Told, The Inspection) and having a peaceful weekend at their country house with her son DJ ( Miles J. Harvey – Supercool, The Babysitter) before he goes off to college.

Director Dito Montiel opens the film with Lefty (Bill Murray – Ghostbusters films, Lost in Translation, The French Dispatch), also a hit man, on a personal mission of revenge. Murray is his understated self; wry and deliberate. He and his lackey Lonnie (Pete Davidson (SNL, The King of Staten Island, The Suicide Squad) are on the road and when dumb-as-a-rock henchman, Lonnie, divulges their real names, a no no. So they nonchalantly kill the storeowner.
Vincent’s estranged son shows up at Vincent’s remote Maine cabin with his very pregnant girlfriend, the savvy nurse Marina (Emanuela Postacchini – Robots, The Alienist). He’s on the run from Lefty after an altercation with Lefty’s son Johnny (Michael Angelo Covino – The Climb, News of the World) over Marina gets way out of hand. Lefty is now on a hellbent violent payback. A particularly funny scene is when Lefty goes to Vincent’s main residence near the city and Vincent’s adorably innocent, naive neighbors help Lefty find the path to the exact location.
Of course, mayhem and more comedy and bloodshed ensue once the whole damn family gets together creating outrageous turn after turn of events. In addition to the shady personalities, there are a lot of moving parts based on sex, love and family. Hard not to divulge spoilers here, but you almost know what is going to happen.

Director Montiel and Writer John Pollono (Stronger) give these actors plenty of well-delivered and well-timed lines along with plenty of action. This is essentially a family movie that isn’t made for families with quite the dangerous ensemble of characters who play off each other in a murderous family game. Who knew crime could be so much foul-mouthed homicidal fun!
