Director Tom Harper put Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones in training for their physical roles in The Aeronauts, but Redmayne freely admits Jones trained lingers for hers was the tougher having to climb the massive balloon. They talk about shooting from a helicopter and using drones to get the breathtaking views of the balloon floating through the clouds, but shot much of the film using green screen in a huge balloon and basket on a massive soundstage setup.
